Harbour Views! - A Sunset Oasis! -By KOSH

Beautiful place to stay for tidy people Positive: Beautiful view of the sunset, lovely interior with super comfy mattresses and amazing shower-heads (the mist function was so relaxing!). We had plenty of space for a family of 4, and the kitchen was great. Having heat pumps/AC in the living room and downstairs bedroom was necessary to keep the fam comfortable, as this home gets so much light during the day that it gets HOT in there. Location was super close to incredible restaurants and places of interest, though better to drive a few minutes than walk 15-20 minutes along busy roads if you have kids. Felt very secure in this accommodation and there’s room for a vehicle in the enclosed garage (though an extremely tight squeeze!). We enjoyed our stay. Negative: Check-in/out procedure and ongoing messages sent to us throughout our 1-night stay felt overly complicated, and the tone made us feel nervous we’d lose our deposit for the tiniest mess, stain, or open (barred 2nd story) window. We are very tidy, meticulous people but felt like we had to be hyper-vigilant while staying here, which impacted our ability to relax. Considering the price of this accommodation, we were surprised to see it lacking in a few areas. Despite very comfortable mattresses, the pillows on the beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable. I was grateful to have brought my own pillow. Other than toilet paper (plenty of it) there were no other paper products, such as paper towels or tissues. The host guidelines are extremely clear on not leaving a mess behind, yet they left us with only a couple of very small rags to use to dry dishes, dry hands, AND use to clean up in the kitchen. We cooked one bacon and eggs meal and felt very stressed about how to properly clean up after. Perhaps the host can supply a roll of paper towels so guests can easily ensure cleanliness standards are met, or notify us to bring our own. Additionally, there was use of a washer/dryer but no detergent. We ended up having to buy our own. Most places I’ve stayed will supply at least enough detergent for guests to do a load or two so that travellers don’t have to carry around detergent. Great machine though! Lastly, this accommodation needs a warning about how extremely tight the parking is. The unit is on the end of a very narrow long driveway with barely any room to get out of the extremely small garage, which is where you are meant to park. I drive a medium sized vehicle and we struggled immensely to get out, so I imagine anyone in larger vehicles will not fit. We loved staying in this accommodation, but would likely not return again just simply because of how anxious the parking situation made us, unless we were in a smaller car.

Very nice little place for an overnight stay in Tauranga Positive: Very nice little place for an overnight stay in Tauranga. The apartment is cosy with limited space, but in new condition and is well appointed. The bedrooms are tight, but perfectly fine for an overnight ‘in-transit’ stay. Negative: The entire apartment if surprisingly tight, with little space available in the bedrooms for our family of four. This wouldn’t be much of a problem if you were staying one or two nights only, but I think it would get pretty cramped if staying longer.

Lovely Sunset Views Positive: We loved the view from the living room and deck area! Inside the decor was pretty and we appreciated having two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Everything was clean and comfortable. The main beach was a short drive / uber away and offered beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and lots of different restaurants. We had a wonderful stay! Negative: Two very minor points for improvement: it would be helpful to have screens on windows and doors so that we could enjoy the fresh air and breeze from the harbor without letting insects in. It also would have been helpful to have paper towels in the kitchen so that we can more easily keep the area clean as we cook.
